Thought for today: Let God!

Mathew 6:25:
25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? (KJV)

Do not worry about the things of this world, let God be in control of your life. Surrender it all to Him. He will supply all your daily needs -- Philippians: 4:19 --  19But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.(KJV). We get so caught up in trying to do and be everything, trying to have everything, that we forget that we actually have all that we need in Our Heavenly Father. As long as we are in His will, He will be there for us and He will provide for us.

Take heed and Let God!

Spring Break has Come and Gone

I can't believe how fast time is flying! The kids have already had Spring Break and Hubby and I have gone back to work! We decided to trek down to Washington, DC on Wed afternoon!! It was the most beautiful day, thank you Lord! We went to the Air and Space Museum and to the National Gallery of Art. Both visits were spectacular. I think we will go again since we didn't get to see either museum completely. What we were able to get through though was awesome! The kids were excited, we were excited.

We all learned so much about the first flights, and air crafts from the Wright Brothers, Amelia Earhart, Bessie Coleman and lots of other historical men and women. During our visit to the National Gallery of Art, we saw amazing pieces of artwork. We also got to see live artists creating remakes of some famous works of art. It was so neat to see how they recreated some famous pieces of artwork.

I encourage you to spend some time checking out your local museums and galleries, it's amazing how much fun you can have learning new things!

Be Blessed!!

This weeks Blog Spot Light

A little about Mo's Place: I'm a wife, a friend, and a daughter, what I am not, is a mother.  When diagnosed with infertility issues I became quite aware of what a taboo subject this is among women.  I scoured the internet for points of view and ideas and possible fixes.  I was desperate.  What I came to realize as time went on is that there were a lot of voices out there from a lot of different walks of life on this subject but not too many were asking the question, 'as a Christ follower how does infertility affect me?'  I didn't have a lot of answers but I felt a strong desire to create this blog in an effort to give a truthful, raw, sometime not too christlike view on how someone like me who is a christ follower handles these trials of infertility.  I wanted to do it out load as a way to find healing and understanding for myself and as a possible blessing for someone else just like me, who is lost by the news of it all and is looking for a little perspective. God has a plan, He knows what he is doing and remembering that on this journey has proven to be the hardest test to pass.
Please make sure to stop by Mo's Place today

Thought for Today:

In reading Our Daily Bread this week, it made me realize that we don't always follow the signs of God. He sends us all the time, even when things are going well. But, we need to remember that in doing His will, we must follow His signs. No matter the situation -- happy, sad etc, He sends us those signs for a reason. If we don't follow Him, we are not doing His will; and instead we are obeying our flesh instead of Our Savior. Remember to put God first and follow His signs!

Have a Blessed Day!

Iron Women of the Word -- Leaning on God

Thought for today: Comes from Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding; In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths" Those two verses say a whole lot. The main point I want to talk about is Leaning on God. If we depend on ourselves in this flesh, there is no telling where it will lead us. If we lean on God in everything, He can take you to places you have never imagined!! That is how awesome God is. The things He does for us, His children just proves how omnipotent and omniscient our Savior is. Depend on Him to supply your every need; depend on Him to see you through every trial and temptation. His arms are big enough to hold and His ears big enough to listen. Trust Him with everything, and you will know love beyond all measure.

Have a blessed day!

Traveling -- Spring Break and Summer Plans

There are only about 47 more days till the kids are out of school. Spring Break is coming up, and then we have 2 months off for Summer Break. What to do, what to do? We like to introduce our kids to all kinds of history, culture and food. For Spring Break we are thinking of taking the kids to some museums. In the past we have visited the National Museum of Natural History, The Washington Monument and a few other sites in DC. Locally, we'd like to visit the Baltimore Museum of Art, The Walters, Port Discovery (kids love it) and the Reginald F. Lewis Museum (we've been about 3 or 4 times so far and the kids enjoyed themselves), and the Constellation. They really enjoy looking at artifacts -- the jewels especially. :)

We've gotten in the habit of exposing our kids to various types of food. They have had Indian, Asian, Soul Food, Italian, French, Mexican, and Japanese. Each meal was enjoyed and it gives them something fun to talk about with their friends!!

Summer Break we will probably plan several trips. We have already booked our trip to Disney World. The girls are so excited about going. We may plan a few smaller excursions that we will take over the course of the Summer.

I encourage you to check out your local, family friendly, one-day museums, restaurants. I guarantee that your kids and even you, will have a terrific time!!

Stay Blessed and Happy Eating and Traveling!!!

Today's Thought comes from a reading out of Our Daily Bread. It talks about feeding ourselves. It is so very important that you take the time to feed yourself spiritually. Don't depend on the Sunday sermon to get you through the week. You need to delve into the Word of God on a daily basis. Picking apart God's word will help you grow, it will help your witness and it will ultimately draw you closer to our Savior. I encourage you today to take in a little extra food and trust me you will get your fill!!

Have a blessed day!
