School Time!!

This year, I will have both of my girls in school! I can't believe how fast time is flying. My oldest will be 7 in a month and my youngest just turned 4 in June. Shopping for the items on their back to school lists wasn't as daunting as I thought. Our aunt who is a teacher, gave us most of their supplies! Thank you Aunt Sharon!! We then went to WalMart for the rest. We didn't break the bank, but instead got most items on sale! Now, the hardest part will be having two kids at two different schools with two different start and dismissal times! Oy! Prayerfully hubby can get his schedule changed to go in earlier, otherwise I will have to get to work at 7 and stay till 5 to make up for the time I have to leave in the morning and afternoon to pick the kids up. I may be able to work from home remotely as well. Whatever the outcome, God will be with us 100%.

Here's to a successful First Grade and Pre Kindergarten school year!

Wonderful Read!!!

I'm getting back into my daily reading. I just read a book called: "The Me I Want to Be: Becoming God's Best Version of You", by John Ortberg. This was a great resource to develop a stronger relationship with God and myself. The biggest thing I took away from the book was that God created me to be who He wants me to be, not who I want to be! This book is a journey that everyone should take. It opens you up to God's faithfulness, mercy, grace and open arms. Two of my favorite parts are parts 5 and 6.

Part five talks about Deepening Relationships, with God, friends and family. The more you deepen your relationship with Christ, the more you can go to Him in times of trouble, but also times of extreme joy and happiness. You will feel comfortable going to him in any situation. Quiet time with God is a necessity. Praying and talking to Him should be your special time. No interruptions, just you and the Father alone together.

Part six is important in our daily life. It talks about: Letting God Flow through our work and Letting God Honor our work. Those statements say a lot about how Christians should live. Our work should be challenging and should speak to our strengths and effectiveness. That strength and effectiveness is given to us by God.

One of my favorites stories came at the end. It is a story of Granny Brand, I won't spill the beans, but I'll just say this, pick up the book and be blessed!

This book was provided to me by Zondervan as a free book to review as part of their book review program.
